Six Solar players named on U.S. National Team rosters for 2017

Congratulations to Haley Berg (U-20), Raigen Powell (U-16), Trinity Byars (U-15 and U-16)  Alexis Missimo (U-15), Olivia Pena (U-15) and Allison Perry (U-15)

U-15 4 Solar players called to the U.S. Under-15 Girls National Team. They kick off their 2017 program with a camp at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Carson, California, running from Feb. 11-18. The camp will be led by U.S. Soccer Women’s Development Coach Mark Carr who has called up 40 players, almost all of whom were born in 2003 with two born in 2004.

U-16  2 Solar players called to the Under-16 Girls’ National Team who kick off their 2017 program with a training camp running from Jan. 16-22 at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center in San Diego. Head coach Jaime Frias has called up 24 players, all but one born in 2002. This group of players move up from the U-14 level last year and will spend two years as the U-16 GNT before moving on to the U-18s. These players are all age-eligible for the 2018 U-17 Women’s World Cup, which has an age cut-off of players born on or after January 1, 2001, but will eventually be the core age group for the team that will attempt to qualify for the U-20 Women’s World Cup in 2022.

U-20 Haley Berg was called up to the first U.S. Under-19 Women’s National Team camp of 2017 in Sunrise, Fla., running from Jan. 28–Feb. 4. Berg was among the 30 players, all who is eligible for the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in France, called up. During the camp, the U-19 WNT will play against the University of Central Florida. Haley was a staple for the Under-18 USWNT in 2016, most recently competed with the U-18 USWNT that placed second in the Women’s International Cup in October. The midfielder from Celina, Texas is committed to play at the University of Texas this fall and has experience playing with Dallas Texans and Solar Soccer Club. Berg has also competed in North Texas Soccer ODP from 2009-12 and competed in multiple Region III ODP Camps.
