OCEANSIDE, California – The Girls Development Academy Playoffs wrapped up on Saturday with the quarterfinals round of the U16/17 playoffs

Congratulations to Solar U16/17 GDA as they advance to the National DA final 4! 

Emily Jane (EmJ) Cox, Solar Soccer Club – It’s been a fantastic week for Cox. She led a strong defensive effort to get Solar into the semifinal round. She added the cherry on top with an outstanding header off a corner kick from Alexis Missimo for the fourth goal of the game.

Alexis Missimo, Solar Soccer Club – Missimo scored twice and had an assist in the win over Nationals while playing sick. Missimo gutted out a terrific performance while not at her peak and lead her side to an appearance in the semifinal round.

Emma Martin, Nationals – Martin made a pair of saves early in the second half that kept the game relatively close before the hour mark. The first save was a terrific reaction save on a close shot.

Sierra Curtis, Nationals – Curtis brought some energy to the Nationals side as they searched for a way back into the game. She worked hard on both sides of the ball and helped create opportunities for her side. Meike Ingles and Jenna Blackburn contributed to the Nationals attack with a goal each.

Lola Stanley, Solar Soccer Club – Stanley made her mark on the game in the second half. She was outstanding on the ball and charged through the Nationals defense a number of times.

Quinn Cornog, Solar Soccer Club – Cornog scored a beautiful goal from outside of the 18-yard box in the first half. Trinity Byars also scored for Solar in the game.
