Solar U17 Boys DA is outshining the competition

Boys Development Academy playoffs are underway in sunny California and Solar U17 DA is outshining the competition!  Solar defeated reigning champs Seattle Sounders U17 DA 3-0 on day 1 and followed up with a convincing 2-0 win against Bethesda FC U17 DA in day 2.  Their next game is Saturday at 2:30 PDT against a talented Montreal Impact FC squad.  GO SOLAR! #solarnation #cleansheets #solarboysrock #5goalsforusnoneforthem

Top Drawer Soccer day 1 standouts:

Grant McCarty, Solar Soccer Club – There were a number of players who were terrific for Solar on Tuesday. McCarty earns first billing for the group on the day due to his assist on the first goal from Richard Garcia, which was terrific. Bailey Sparks also had a good game for Solar. Luis Sahmkow was also a standout.

Joshua Ramsey, Solar Soccer Club – Whenever it felt like the Sounders were about to get a chance on goal, Ramsey’s leg came out of nowhere to block the shot. Jonathan Tomkinson was outstanding as well. The two Solar center backs had an outstanding game.

Chris Edwards, Solar Soccer Club – Edwards put on quite the show on Tuesday. He made some spectacular saves and did not put a foot wrong along the way.

Top Drawer Soccer day 2 standouts:

Richard Garcia, Solar Soccer Club – Garcia had another good game for Solar. He did well in creating chances for his teammates with his passing. Center backs Joshua Ramsey and Jonathan Tomkinson were outstanding once again.
