The Solar Soccer Club teams and families have partnered with Adidas to successfully raise $22,000 in support of childhood cancer research and patient support in our communities. For National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September, teams wore their special gold jerseys. The jerseys were designed so teams have the option of wearing them year-round, continuing to raise awareness and conversations about the need for more research, funding, and further support for patients’ during treatment. Annually in the US alone, an estimated 15,000 children between 0-19 years will be diagnosed with cancer. Approximately 40,000 children are in active treatment at any given time. Further research is necessary for successful treatments with less, lifelong negative, health impacts.

Solar Soccer Club is pleased to be sharing the donations with Little Warrior Foundation and Anna's Bake Sale Foundation. Each foundation will receive a check in the amount of $11,00. “We are all enormously honored and humbled to be a part of this club – our Solar families and teams have shown such powerful support of this cause for Childhood Cancer Awareness and Support,” stated Adrian Solca, Executive Director. Solar SC, based in North Texas, is one of the most successful soccer programs in the nation with national rankings and several national & regional titles annually in the girls’ and boys’ teams.
